(i) MLTSSL List:-
There are 212 occupations in the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). This list is prescribed in the Occupations Specification and Evaluation Authorities legislative instrument LIN 19/051. To select for the skilled migration to Australia (Subclass 189), you must select an occupation from the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

The Skilled Independent visa subclass 189 is the permanent visa for all individuals with skills in demand in the country’s thriving labor market. The permit is proffered to the candidates, via Points Based System (not sponsored). It enables the holders to immigrate to Australia if they have good English proficiency, employment experience, and qualifications in a vocation in need in the famous immigration hotspot. The permit employs the points test to choose visa applicants who are in a field of high demand in the national labor market of Australia.

When you apply for a General Skilled Migration Visa and you are NOT nominated by a government of the State or Territory, you must nominate an occupation from this List of Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills.
Because Australia desperately needs to fill the labor gap with highly skilled and skilled workers to develop its economy. The new list started on April 19, 2018.
